Nibbles and Me
Elizabeth Taylor
Books have been adapted into movies for decades and, in turn, the life stories of film stars have long been published in memoirs and autobiographies. A few actors have also dabbled in fiction, cooking and even a book, in Elizabeth Taylor’s case, about a pet chipmunk.
This selection of Tinseltown-themed literature stretches from the beautiful Mary Pickford – one of the early pioneers of Hollywood – to the generation featuring Alec Guinness, whose career was winding down in 1977 when he made a cameo in a film called Star Wars.
These books, all signed by the stars themselves, tell the stories behind famous films like The Sound of Music, Doctor Doolittle, Ben Hur, Easy Rider, Angels with Dirty Faces, and Some Like It Hot. Most of these famous men and women - known for their lives, looks and loves - have passed away. A few are still around, but the quantities of these signed books are very limited.
