Carlyle Buley, of Indiana University, handed Mr. Eli Lilly a manuscript copy of "The House of the Singing Winds," by Selma N. Steele, wife of the painter Theodore Clement Steele, Mr. and Mrs. Lilly read with much pleasure Mrs. Steel's reminiscences which cover 1907 until his death in 1926 suggested that the Indiana Historical Society consider publication of the manuscript. From this suggestion the present volume has evolved." (Written in the Foreword of the book.) The spine, cover, and pages are in very good condition.
