Book
No Binding. Condition: Fine. [37 leaves of which 8 are card]; loose in supplied envelope; 298 x 211 x 6 mm. A sheaf of five photocopied visual tales with accompanying a.l.s. to one of his publishers, dated at Paris 17 February 1994 (exactly a month before his untimely death). Including two drawings (one in two states) from the collaboration with lover Edmund White, Our Paris, issued shortly after his death (at 32). The letter reads, in part: "Thank you so much for presenting my comics in such a nice way. I'm sending you, as I promised on the phone, a few stories. The first one is extracted from our book that we are doing with Ed for Chatto. Edmund wrote the text and I love it. I find it poetic. I hope you like the drawing which goes with it." The artist, an architect by trade, had earlier written & illustrated a privately-printed portfolio entitled Memoires Dessinees (1992: Rachel Stella Gallery, Paris). Well preserved save for a small faint stain on one leaf which may be blood (with offset on adjoining leaf).
