Bright red, white, and yellow illustrated DJ of a figure emerging from curtains. Red lettering on the front cover and white lettering along the spine. Front cover of DJ, fore edge, and free endpapers, are all stamped with "FILE COPY NOT TO BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE". Spine is faded, but the DJ has been placed in a protective plastic brodart. Light penciling on front free endpaper from previous owner. No date on title page. Copyright page dated 1951. Stated first edition. 278 pages. Interiors are clean and unmarked. Illustrated by Ernest Shepard, most well known for his illustrations in Winnie the Pooh. A very good copy.

Book is black cloth- clean & tight with attractive prior owner's bookplate on inside front board. DJ is very clean, with slight edgewear & sunned spine (lettering on spine not visible) Overall a charming copy of scarce title.
