Printed in a limited edition of 499 copies of which 149 have been signed by the poet and artist. 50 copies have been numbered I to L and have been reserved for the collaborators. This is copy I and is initialed by the publisher (Trevor Weston) on the colophon. A subsequent inscription by Trevor Weston (dated 28 April 2007) indicates that this book was his personal copy. There is also a blind stamp on the end page 'Neatham Hill Library' with TW in centre of the stamp. Neatham Hill was the home of TW. Illustrations by Vance Gerry. There is no pochoir colouring on this copy. Light spotting to edges of front and rear covers. Otherwise in fine condition. Signed by Author and Illustrat.

First edition of 150 copies. A miniature, and appropriately so, describing 31 miniature books, chronologically, printed by Los Angeles printer and bibliophile, William Cheney (1907-2002). Printed and bound by Vance Gerry for Dawson's Book Shop, where Cheney once worked as a shipping clerk. . Miniature book, 7x6cm, unpaginated. Patterned paper over boards with printed label, in red illustrated jacket. Light toning to edges of jacket, nearly fine.

Bud Gerry, or â Buddyâ as he was then called (and how he despised that name), learned to set type by hand and absorbed the basic principles of book design at Grant Dahlstromâ s Castle Press in 1942â "43. As a lad of thirteen, Buddy was glad to work for forty cents an hour â . . . when there were jobs practical for boys to do â ¦â After military service, Vance made use of the GI Bill to train as a commercial artist at Woodbury College, at the Art Center for Design and the Chouinard Art Institute. Vance Gerryâ s first book â by an infamous and marvelously surreal artist from the Golden Age of Disney,â was Roy Williams.ÂVaporisms, consisting of nine numbered pages, 5 x 7 ¾ inches, published in an edition of 50 copies. With thirteen illustrations (woodcuts, linocuts, and etc.), some in color; four mounted samples (of patterned paper and small illustrations); and two plates, one with a pochoir illustration from Dan StrehlÕs The Spanish Cook and the other a fold-out plate with a line drawing by Ednest Lindner. Bound by Mariana Blau in patterned paper boards with blue cloth spine. In the original off-white paper dustjacket printed in light brown. A fine copy in a fine dustjacket.
