(Hardcover, 1992). (1975) 1992 Cresset Press edition. 4to (192 x 248mm). Pp525. Colour plate of flies, colour and b/w photographs, b/w illustrations. Laminated boards. Good only in used / frayed / spine-faded dust-wrapper. "Falkus and Buller's Freshwater Fishing is a classic: a book which no one with an intelligent interest in angling can afford to be without .A book of tackle and techniques, with some notes on various fishes; fish recipes; fishing safety and other sundry matters". An encyclopaedic work encompassing all aspects of British freshwater fishing. The authors' passion for research, their love of angling, even their avowed interest in the culinary qualities of their catch, seem to me a healthier approach to the subject than that of many writers of today, whose over-emphasis on technical and conservation aspects seem to take much of the excitement and spontaneity of fishing. Part I covers fishes, Part II rigs, tackles and methods of capture, with some reference to American ideas. .

The two issues can be distinguished by the fact that the former has an overall thickness, including covers, of about 33-34mm, while the latter, again including covers, is notably wider at about 45mm.Falkus expressed his contempt for the first issue by referring to it as 'The Bronco Edition,' referring to a well-known brand of cheap toilet tissue."
