EDWARD VAN DE VENDEL (1964) used to be a school teacher, but soon started a living as an author of children’s books. He has won many awards for his titles ranging from picture books to young adult novels. He is considered one of the experts on children’s literature in The Netherlands.

Then the droopy bird flaps back to her nest, flying from bright yellow into gloomy grays as the onlooking animals worry that she may not be able to work tomorrow.
