Book Description Digital. Condition: New. The sumptuous ART quarterly presenting the world's finest illustrators. Book Palace Books October 2022. Full Colour illustrations. This is the ONLINE EDITION for Web, Smartphone and Tablet. The PRINTED edition is SOLD OUT. We meet Gary Gianni, a modern master whose work still seems to emanate from the Golden Age of Illustration. From Solomon Kane to The Shadow, Prince Valiant to The Game of Thrones, we celebrate this amazing versatile artist. We meet head on with the surrealistic comics of Paul Kirchner who tells us about his years in New York, assisting Wally Wood, being at Neal Adam's Manhattan Art Studio, and working for some disreputable publishers. Finally we rediscover the endearing and enduring British comic strip Flook and its artist Wally Fawkes, better known as Trog. More like a book than a magazine, illustrators is the art quarterly devoted to the finest illustration art ever published. With its unique blend of art and insight, it guides you through the stories behind the artists and their art, with features written by some of the leading authorities on this important art form. As well as building into an indispensable reference library, illustrators gives readers an insight into the creative process, from the initial idea to the image potentially seen by millions. Truly fabulous artwork abounds in every issue, much of the art taken from scans of the original work. A Book Palace Books publication. 96 pages. Size: 9" x 11" (216mm x 280mm). ISBN: 9781913548261. Book Description Digital. Condition: New. The sumptuous ART quarterly presenting the world's finest illustrators. Book Palace Books January 2024. Full Colour illustrations. This is the ONLINE EDITION for Web, Smartphone and Tablet. (Click HERE for the PRINTED edition.) Celebrate all the fabulous artists who drew the iconic Trigan Empire comic strip that first appeared in Ranger and then Look and Learn from 1965 to 1982, a run of 854 issues in total. One of the most fondly remembered British strips was the fully painted The Rise and Fall of the Trigan Empire. With its pseudo retro setting in a world resembling Ancient Rome, but with the advances of science in its weapons and flying vehicles, it set the standard in boys' comics from the 1960s onwards. But it was mainly the absolutely stunning artwork of its initial artist, Don Lawrence, that made it such a fan-favourite. We take a close look at the artwork and feature panels in detail from the various artists who contributed to the series. The majority of the artwork was scanned from the originals and reproduced at their actual size to see the artwork in all its glorious detail. The Illustration Art Gallery at Book Palace has a trove of material from the Trigan Empire, showcasing the work of all the artists who collaborated on the series. Includes a complete Stripography and feature articles on the Artists: Don Lawrence Ernest Ratcliff Ron Embleton Miguel Quesada Philip Corke Oliver Frey Gerry Wood A Book Palace Books publication. 128 pages.
