Eyelets have always been a good way of attaching layers to cards, but nowadays they come in a huge range of sizes and colours, many with shaped inserts to add to their decorative appeal. Polly Pinder's shows how to attach eyelets using specialist piercing and setting tools and a hammer and cutting mat that most crafters will already own. The attaching process is then as simple as banging in a nail! Polly's wonderfullly creative designs show how to create six cards using eyelets in a variety of innovative ways: as flowers in a vase, seeds in a sunflower, autumn leaves or threaded with ribbon or chain to suspend a golden heart or a framed family portrait, or with gold thread to create the sun's rays. Templates are provided wherever necessary and there are many beautiful pictures to inspire all card makers, from beginners to experienced crafters.

Review:
Aug 05 Recognized as an essential part of a crafter's workbox, eyelets are a wonderful resource for card makers as they are both practical and decorative. Polly shows us how they can be used to punch shapes, thread ribbons and suspend artwork, as well as being attractive features in any design. * Crafts Beautiful * Aug 05 This book was very inspiring. I enjoy making my own cards and this has given me lots of new ideas. The book gives a full list of the materials needed and basic eyelet techniques. It has a good list and illustrations of the materials needed...and a picture of the end project. The book is easy to read and I liked the names they gave to each card. The templates...are drawn clearly in each chapter and a variety of different cards on the same theme are shown at the end of the chapter. It is a very inventive book which uses a wide range of materials. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys making their own cards. (JJ - aged 10) * Education Otherwise * Aug 05 Used practically or decoratively, eyelets, although lovely, don't usually take central stage on cards. However, this book provides a great selection of accessible ideas to produce effective cards, relatively quickly and cheaply, using eyelets. The clear, bright images are accompanied by concise instructions, and handy tips that create a user-friendly manual for novices and established card makers alike. * Papercraft Inspirations *
