Mr Badger wasn't just the Special Event manager at the Boubles Grand Hotel (pronounced Boublay). Though likely to resonate more with returning readers, this second series title (both were first published in Australia in 2010) has droll, quirky appeal, including the bespectacled, dapper badger protagonist, who is an animal among humans (humorously, they seem unperturbed or unaware of Mr. Badger being a badger). The mystery plotline is slight, but its whimsical nature makes for an entertaining chapter book. Somewhat formal, wry prose is balanced by amusing and lively line illustrations.
