About the Author

Author Hermon Price grew up in the mining town of Bisbee, Arizona and endured two years as an enlisted man in the infantry during World War II. Another year was spent in Army hospitals, recovering from war wounds. Despite this rather somber history, he retained a lively sense of the ridiculous. This light-hearted attitude continued through his subsequent experiences in pre-med studies at the University of Arizona, medical school training at Northwestern University Medical School, and specialty training in internal medicine.

The ability to be aware of humor in otherwise unpleasant situations has been a sustaining characteristic throughout Price's teenage misadventures, family vacations gone awry, and unforeseen developments during medical practice. Sixty years of marriage to Marge (Margaret), five children, and a dozen grandchildren have not diminished, but rather have enhanced his sunny attitude (at least most of the time).
