From School Library Journal:
Grade 4-5?Stevie Diamond and her best friend, Jesse Kulniki, are back doing what they do best?solving mysteries. This time, the President of the United States is visiting Canada for a summit meeting when his dog is stolen from a local park. The Vancouver press attributes the crime to "the Prankster," a mysterious person who has been pulling mean practical jokes throughout the community. When the missing animal turns up at the dog daycare establishment where Stevie works, the girls race to identify the culprit before someone thinks that one of them is guilty. Bailey has written another lively story that will keep readers involved to the very end. Stevie and Jesse banter back and forth as they try to come up with possibilities and even disagree at times on how to question their suspects, yet their friendship goes unchallenged throughout the story. This is an enjoyable read for graduates of David Adler's "Cam Jansen" and Donald Sobol's "Encyclopedia Brown" books. Fans of Betsy Byars's "Herculeah Jones" series will also enjoy reading about Stevie and Jesse's adventures and misadventures.?Lisa Marie Gangemi, Sousa Elementary School, Port Washington,
