Western Contemporary Romance - J.D. Martin, a former policewoman in New York City, is trying to start her business as a private investigator. Doing a good job on her assignment, finding the rustlers of Reed Brunswick's cattle, will surely give her the one thing she needs in Montana, a good reference from a well-known rancher.

What neither of them is prepared for is the immediate attraction that develops between them. This far-away ranch is a place no woman wants to live, that's already been proved to Reed more times than he cares to remember.

J.D.'s got a lot to prove, but isn't prepared to have her heart rustled...

About the Author:
This is Ms. Butler's third romance novel and her first contemporary. Although she resides in Illinois, her heart is in the west. She's quickly becoming known as someone who writes a different type of romance with a little bit of shoot-em-up, a little humor and a whole lot of romance. She's the author of "The Colonel's Widow" and "Trailboss" also westerns, but historicals. She's working on a three book trilogy with the first of the series placed in Southern Illinois pre-Civil War. The second gets her back in the west as hero and heroine travel from Cairo, Illinois to Ft. Benton, Montana on a riverboat and the third is placed in Virginia City, Montana. Master of the Black Night should be out in fall or winter 2001 followed by Calico Queen and Libby.
Review:
I loved it as much if not more than her first two books. A great read. -- Michele Cordery, Avid Reader
