So when Ellie asks her to go watch the ships, she hesitates. Ellie ties knots in Grandma's handkerchief, but she forgets what they mean. However, Grandma remembers all about Ellie, including the things she has done and the times they've spent together. The message is lightly reassuring in tone. Bright, comical illustrations add humor but strike some false notes in showing an overly agile Grandma. Parents will find this book useful in discussing the changes in aging grandparents.
