From Library Journal:
These two books on job-hunting and career management cover the basics--resume writing, researching employers, interviewing, networking--more than adequately. Both books contain up-to-date views of the current employment market, which has been shaken-up by mergers, down-sizings, and the stock market crash of 1987. Weinberg includes very useful chapters on special situations (i.e., being fired), career changing, advice for women, minorities, and those over 40. The Petrases take a step-by-step approach, beginning with setting a job objective. The chapter on researching companies contains extensive references to business information sources and how to interpret the information. The 15 most common interview questions are discussed, and an entire chapter explains evaluating the job offer. Weinberg's book is aimed at first-time job-searchers and re-entry applicants; the Petras's book is appropriate for the more experienced job-searcher. Both are recommended for public and college library collections.
