Martin Booth was a prolific British novelist and poet. He also worked as a teacher and screenwriter, and was the founder of the Sceptre Press. He died at the age of 59 in February 2004.

The tale of her military career, from basic training to search-and-rescue missions on the beaches of Dunkirk and in the bombed-out cities of England, is read with an intensity befitting her dangerous endeavors.
